CREAMY CUCUMBER AND CHICKEN PASTA

Have you ever cooked with “mixers” before. Mixers are drinks that usually go with alcohol and are usually used to make cocktails. But once the alcohol is done and you’re left with so many mixers? COOK WITH THEM!

This dish uses the Schweppes Cucumber Flavored Tonic Water and I must say the flavors are amazing.
Cucumber is one of those things that one would consider boring. But not with this dish. I was skeptical about this cucumber flavoured tonic water but to my surprise it was heaven on earth. Everyone needs to get on this wave and try out this recipe.

INGREDIENTS
Chicken breasts
Shweppes Cucumber Flavoured Tonic Water
Onion powder
Dried thyme
Fresh parsley
Onions
Garlic
Chicken spice
Fresh cream
Lemons
Black pepper
Sugar
Parmesan cheese
Salt
Butter
Parppadelle (any ribbon pasta of choice)
MEASUREMENTS
1 1/2 Tbsp Onion powder
1 Tbsp dried thyme
1 Tbsp chicken spice
Salt and peer to taste
200 ml Schweppes Cucumber flavoured tonic water.
1 cup fresh cream
1/2 tspn sugar
COOKING AND PREPARATION
Wash your chicken breasts, pat dry with a paper towel and slice into strips.
Cook your pasta.
Season your chicken with: Onion powder, Dried Thyme, Chicken spice, Black pepper and Salt.
On high heat, melt butter in a pan. While your butter is melting chop up your onions and garlic, set aside.
Once your butter is melted add your chicken pieces and fry on medium heat until browned.
Add your garlic and your onions.
Once your onions have browned, squeeze in half a lemon and cook for another 2 minutes.
Pour in your can of Schweppes Cucumber Flavored Tonic Water. Leave to simmer for a few minutes.
Pour in your fresh cream and add your Parmesan.
Sprinkle some sugar to tie in the flavor together. 1/2 tspn should be enough!
Chop up some fresh parsley and sprinkle over your chicken. Mix everything together.
Let simmer for another 2-5 minutes and take off the stove.
Mix your cucumber chicken with your pasta and serve with cucumber slices.
