  • Paprika

  • Black Pepper

  • Salt

  • Seafood spice

  • Lemon

Cooking & Preparation

  1. Wash your prawns and remove the poop shoot. The poop shoot is found on the outer top part of the prawn, the back. It is a brownish greenish line in which looks like a vein.

  2. After washing and drying your prawns season with; 1/2 tspn salt, 1tspn parsley, 1tspn thyme, 1 tspn origanum, 1tspn paprika, 1tspn black pepper and 1/2 seafood spice. Mix everything together.

  3. On medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter.

  4. While the butter is melting, grate or mince 4 cloves of garlic.

  5. Juice 1 large lemon or until you have 1/4 cup of lemon juice.

  6. Once butter has melted and starts to sizzle, add your garlic.

  7. Fry garlic in butter for about a minute and add your seasoned prawns.

  8. Let prawns cook for a minute and a half and then add your lemon juice. You can add lemon zest as well but that part is optional.

  9. Let the prawns cook in the juice/sauce until it thickens and prawns have curled up all the way.

  10. Don’t over cook the prawns because they can be chewy and unpleasant to eat.

To remove the poop shoot, get a toothpick and insert it in the opening where the head previously was. you should see a dark greenish brown line. With the toothpick, lift the skin and push back away from you, making an incision. wash away any of the remaining dirt.
