Ingredients
Apples
Castor sugar
Vanilla essence
Self raising flour
Granulated sugar
Butter
Salt
Brown sugar
Rolled Oats
Measurements
650g apples
2 tbsp caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla
110g self-raising flour
40g brown sugar
40g cold salted butter
2 tbsp rolled oats
Method
Heat oven to 180°C.
Peel and dice your apples.
In a saucepan add apples, caster sugar, vanilla essence and 1 tablespoon of water.
Cook until apples are softened.
Transfer to a baking tray.
In a mixing bowl add flour, sugar and butter and rub with your fingertips until mixture looks like crumbs.
Stir in the oats.
Spread crumb over the apples and then sprinkle some sugar on top.
Bake for about 40-45 mins until golden and bubbling.
Serve with custard, cream or ice cream.
